Bootcamp Structure & Requirements

  1. You should definitely have your laptop for this track. If you don’t already have a FREE DesktopServer license, we are providing them to all attendees here. This package comes with a custom Blueprint which is designed specifically for this Bootcamp. Download your version and install it here:
  2. Be prepared to stay in this track for the entire day on Sunday – this is meant to be a progression of topics, it’s not meant that you would bounce around between this and any of the other tracks that are going on.
  3. Please read over the topics that will be covered to ensure that this is a track you are interested in:
    1. Setting Up Your Local Environment (Local Server).
We’re going to learn of the importance and convenience of having a local environment from the Pros at ServerPress.
    2. Plugins & Theme Troubleshooting.
What do you do when things go KABLUEY!? Learn from WordImpress’s Head of Support, Matt Cromwell the best way to get your site up and running again in no time.
    3. Customizing without Hacking
You want to make your site your own, but if you touch those Core file or plugin/theme files you’ll just create future headaches for yourself. Learn from WPRocket’s Support Guru, Lucy Beer how to enhance your website without hacking it to pieces.
    4. How to Teach Yourself CSS
While you WANT to customize stuff, you don’t have the faintest clue where to start. Matt Cromwell will give you all the tools you need to teach yourself CSS with your browser and some useful WordPress tools.
    5. How to be Strategic About Getting Content in Your Site
Now that you have your site up and running, what are you actually going to DO with it? Learn from Website Creation Workshop Founder Christina Hills how to strategically add meaningful content that will keep your visitors coming back for more.
