Overview: “What I Wish I Knew When I First Started with WordPress”

This presentation was focused on absolute beginners. My intention was to give them general ideas and strategies that would help them learn WordPress much more quickly. I had tonsĀ of fun with this one by picking a theme called “OMG! We Can Build Dinosaurs!”. The idea is that when you first get into WordPress you start to see how limitless the potential is and think: “I can build ANYTHING!” But just because you can doesn’t mean you should. So the tips in this presentation are intended to help users know in advance what they can do to prevent problems with their plugins, themes, and give a glimpse of how to grow well beyond their current skill-set.
